Michael Bastian for Gant

My favorite menswear designer hands down is Michael Bastian.  Everything he does seems so perfect for the “American” guy.   A little preppy, a little cowboy, a little outdoorsman, just the right amount of color and rebellion.  Problem is you need to take out a second mortgage to afford his stuff, I mean his shorts cost $450…shorts!  That’s why so many guys are excited to see him design for a more affordable brand this fall, the old-school Gant.  It seems like one of the best collaborations for a guy like Michael, both are American through and through.  Today Vanity Fair released a story on what he has been up to for the partnership and with the write-up they released a second sneak peak video.  I love how he describes what he is doing, how he has a “certain guy” in mind.  He knows his stuff is flippin’ expensive and this is a way for him to reach the guys that love his stuff but can’t afford it.  Read the full story and see the video here.
